By law, everyone MUST contact the Ohio Utilities Protection Service, 1-800-362-2764 or 8-1-1, at least 48 hours but no more than 10 working days (excluding weekends and legal holidays) before beginning ANY digging project.

Legislative Update
 Senator Steve Buehrer introduced Senate Bill 152 on July 2, 2009. You can access and track the progress of the bill at http://www.legislature.state.oh.us/. Please remember that this is simply a draft and the current damage prevention law (ORC 3781.25 to 3781.32) remains in place at this time.
