O.U.P.S. EDUCATION & SAFETY LIAISONS
O.U.P.S.' liaisons play a crucial role in our quest to promote safe digging. Working closely with contractors, excavators, contract locators and our member network of utilities and underground facility owners, they travel throughout the state to spread our message. For Ohio excavators and contractors, the liaisons are available to conduct FREE safety talks for your work crews at the location of your choice.
Your liaison—your link to damage prevention
In addition, all O.U.P.S. liaisons are actively involved with damage prevention councils in their region. Comprised of underground facility owners and operators, excavators, contractors and government agencies, these councils sponsor educational programs, forums and other initiatives to help minimize damage to underground utilities in our state. In particular, these councils give their members the opportunity to take a proactive approach to utility preservation.

As a contractor or excavator, you have a unique perspective on the safe digging process. That's why we encourage you to share your comments with our liaisons, who can forward them to our membership body and Board of Trustees. We want to be sure our programs, services and initiatives reflect the needs and concerns of the general public, especially excavators/contractors like you.
