Excavators Expected to Save Time and Money with Enbridge Gas Ohio’s New One Call Ticket Management System
Enbridge Gas Ohio will start the 2025 construction season with an improved one call ticket management system. The new system will make it safer for excavators to work near our high-profile underground pipeline facilities before their shovels hit the dirt. Excavators can expect improved communication which will result in a decreased risk of accidental damage to gas infrastructure.
Improved communication
One of the system’s key benefits is its ability to improve collaboration between Enbridge Gas Ohio and excavators. Once an excavator submits a one call ticket, the system automatically sends an automated message via email if their project is close to our pipelines requiring an Enbridge Gas employee on site. This immediately identifies high-risk situations for excavators.
Underground facility mapping
The new ticketing system also has detailed mapping and a geographic information system (GIS) capabilities to identify and assess potential risks.
Training
Excavators should submit tickets as they normally have in the past, there’s no need for special training. However, with the enhanced email notification communicating high-risk areas, it will be important for an excavator’s staff identified on the one call ticket to quickly communicate this information to their field employees.
Reducing third-party dig-ins
Enbridge Gas Ohio has a goal to reduce third party damages to its system by 10 percent in 2025. The implementation of the new Ohio one call ticket management system demonstrates our commitment to leveraging advanced technology to protect our infrastructure and ensure the safety of contractors, customers and the community.
By streamlining the excavation request process, enhancing collaboration with contractors and providing greater detailed mapping, the system is set to elevate a new standard in damage prevention and operational excellence in the gas distribution industry.
