Public Awareness and Services Coordinator (Liaison)
JOB SUMMARY
This position executes responsibilities relating to public education awareness, account development, and member and client services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This description is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis. It does not exclude other duties as assigned.
- Increase awareness of OHIO811’s mission and service.
- Responsible for public awareness initiatives, including but not limited to providing safety talks, participation in industry association events, the development and administration of additional educational programs, stakeholder mediation, and resolution.
- Responsible for various damage prevention programs including but not limited to the coordination of Damage Prevention Councils activities, budget development, sponsorship funding, monitoring, and reporting.
- The position is based on a flexible schedule that requires extensive travel within the areas of responsibility which may include overnight and weekend availability and travel.
- Required to follow and comply with all organization policies and procedures.
- Must be proficient in and utilize all required software programs, including Badger Mapping, DocuSign, Tableau, etc.
- Coordinate with communications team to aid in content for various media platforms, including social media, website, newsletters, press releases, etc
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of public awareness initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and outcomes for reporting, evaluation purposes, and reporting metrics.
- Responsible for New Membership Development, which at a minimum includes the following:
- Responsible for new member recruiting and retention of existing members.
- Assisting in achieving strategic organizational goals.
- Responsible for identifying and developing new stakeholder awareness, education, and membership opportunities.
- Responsible for following-up on delinquent accounts in the assigned designated area.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and disciplined.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast paced, results driven environment.
- Ability to communicate the benefits of OHIO811 membership.
- Should possess a solid understanding of account and contract negotiations with the ability to identify and negotiate contracts with vendors.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered.
- Prior Public Speaking experience.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of OHIO811 policies and procedures as well as ticket taking and recording systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- May be required to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Must be able to drive for extended amounts of time, including weekend trips.
