Damage Prevention Councils (DPCs)
Stakeholder Collaboration
Join Local Stakeholders and Industry Leaders to Reduce Excavation Damages, Promote Public Safety, and Protect Ohio’s Utility Infrastructure
Ohio’s Damage Prevention Councils (DPCs) and Utility Coordinating Councils (UCCs) are proactive networks uniting stakeholders in underground damage prevention. Underground facility operators, excavators, government agencies, designers, engineers, locators, municipalities, and industry associations are welcome to participate in their local council to share solutions. DPCs also serve as Regional Partners with the Common Ground Alliance, connecting the national CGA mission of shared responsibility and partnership to local efforts.
Through open communication, education, and cooperation, these councils work to reduce damages to utility facilities, prevent service disruptions for the public, promote public safety, and protect Ohio’s utility infrastructure and the environment.
